Light In The Dark Grants

In response to Covid-19 and other ongoing issues effecting Baptist women in the Pacific, the BWP have decided to create the “Light In The Dark” grants to encourage our women to be mobilized as God’s light bearers.

There will be three grants available. Each grant will be for AUD$1500.

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 15

These grants will be given to help women in your country, community or church in one of three areas: developing literacy (reading and writing, computer or financial), ending domestic violence (through education or action projects) or teaching women new skills so they can create an alternate income (due to job losses incurred by Covid-19).

If you are a Baptist woman in one of our member countries (Australia, New Zealand, PNG, Pacific Papua groups, Tonga, Fiji or Vanuatu) you may apply for one of these grants. It will need to be endorsed by a leader in your convention, a BWP Country president or representative or a member of the BWP Executive Committee.
